Displaying different shades and colours, this 60-year-old Turkish Aegean hand-spun wool rug is simply glowing with its grace and design. Entirely made of hand-spun wool with a special weaving technique called jijim (cicim), this rug is full of incredible details. With this weaving technique, different coloured threads are applied between the weft and warp threads, on the reverse of the weave. They give the appearance of an embroidered addition and usually result in a raised pattern. Unlike many traditional rugs where the design is woven on one side, this specific double-sided rug features the main design of the rug on the reverse side with different colour and tones. This gives you two different unique designs and ways to use the vintage rug. It can easily adjust to any style no matter if it is Scandinavian, Boho or minimalist Bauhaus.
